Brassington is a small village school located in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. It is small enough for every child to be known as an individual but big enough for there to be a wide range of opportunities available to the children. Class sizes are small, with good staff to pupil ratios. We currently have 46 on role across 2 classes.

We are proud of the excellent academic record the school is building up, with four years of outstanding results.  The team at Brassington Primary School are highly skilled and dedicated and work hard to ensure that your child makes the best possible progress. We achieve this through quality teaching and a broad and balanced skills based creative curriculum, in every year group, including Year 6.

In the summer term Year 5 learn to sail at Carsington Water and we are proud of our 100% pass rate for children achieving their RYA Level 1. Younger children have a weekly Forest Schools session and there is an annual residential trip for Year 5 and 6 children. 

Our children are delightful and an asset to our school.

Our school motto is: 'Bringing out the Best in Everyone' and that is what we strive to do for each individual child who joins Brassington Primary School.
